Seattle, WA...February 17, 2011...Originally signed in 2003 to Tooth & Nail Records, the band that has been known for constantly pushing the boundaries of their genre, Emery is proud to become the latest addition to the Solid State Records family. Emery will release their forthcoming album “We Do What We Want” in conjunction with Tooth & Nail Records and Solid State on March 29th.
Emery returns with “We Do What We Want,” one of their heaviest and most uncompromisingly intense releases to date making it a perfect debut on Solid State. The record marks their fifth full-length release on Tooth & Nail Records, and is undeniable proof that quality and longevity go hand-in-hand.
“The overall vibe of the album is heavy, heavy, heavy. That's what we were going for; we wanted to see how far we could take it,” says vocalist/guitarist Toby Morrell. “We wanted to make this album the heaviest thing we had ever done, and I think we accomplished it.”
With more than 425,000 records sold lifetime, the band has cemented themselves as a mainstay in the heavy music genre. “We Do What We Want” is perfect balance of the artistic evolution that we’ve come to expect from the band and the explosive energy that initially won our hearts. The album was produced by Matt Carter (Emery) and mixed by Jason Suecof (August Burns Red). The band is beginning a tour with To Speak of Wolves and Hawkboy (formally As Cities Burn) on March 1st. Tour dates below.
Pre-releases of the upcoming album are available now in various options:
Album Only
Album + shirt
Album + shirt + book + sticker pack
Formed in 2001 in South Carolina, Emery has released four full-length albums (“The Weak’s End,” “The Question,” “I'm Only A Man,” “...In Shallow Seas We Sail”) in addition to the EP, “While Broken Hearts Prevail.” Emery has toured worldwide including at least three national tours each year, sharing the stage with Chiodos, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Underoath, Alexisonfire, and Hawthorne Heights. When the band is not touring, the members reside in locales across the country, including Washington, Illinois, Indiana, and South Carolina.
